Impulse Train is a climbing finger-strength training app that pairs with the
Impulse LoadCell hardware trainer. This policy explains what information the app
collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Impulse Train is operated
by Impulse Climbing (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any questions, contact us
at louiswood3142@gmail.com.
You can use parts of the app without an account. Creating an account unlocks
cloud sync, leaderboards and social features, and means we store the data
described below.
1. Information we collect
Account information
Your email address, used to create and secure your account.
Authentication is handled by our backend provider (Supabase); passwords are
stored only in hashed form and are never visible to us.
If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and
email address you authorize. Apple may provide a private relay email instead
of your real address.
Profile information
A username you choose, and optional profile details you
enter such as body weight, height, ape index and your
edge/training preferences.
Training data
Readings from your Impulse LoadCell device, including
force/strength measurements and device battery level.
Your lift and workout sessions, benchmark test results, training
goals, and in-app game scores.
Social data
The people you follow, posts you create,
reactions, and the gym groups you join.
Some information is shared with other signed-in users by design: your username,
selected profile fields, posts, reactions, and benchmark/leaderboard entries
may be visible to people you connect with or others using shared leaderboards.
Please consider what you choose to share.
Device & technical data
Bluetooth is used solely to connect to your Impulse LoadCell
trainer. We do not use Bluetooth to determine your location.
Basic technical data required to operate the service (for example,
connection and error information) may be processed by our backend provider.
2. Device permissions we request
Bluetooth — to find and connect to your Impulse LoadCell device.
This is the only device permission the app requests. We do not request access
to your location, camera, photos, contacts or microphone.
You can deny or later revoke this permission in your device settings; the
related features will be limited or unavailable.
3. How we use your information
To provide and operate the app and connect to your Impulse LoadCell device.
To sync your training data so it is available across your devices.
To power social features, feeds and leaderboards.
To create, secure and manage your account, and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. How your information is shared
Service providers. Supabase provides our database,
authentication and hosting and processes data on our behalf. If you use Sign
in with Apple, Apple processes your sign-in.
Other users. As described above, certain profile, social
and leaderboard information is visible to other signed-in users.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required to
by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the app.
5. Data storage, location & security
Your data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) and may be processed
on servers located outside your country. Data is encrypted in transit, and
database access is restricted by row-level security so that you can only access
your own private data and the information others choose to share with you.
6. Retention & deleting your account
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete
your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the
app. Deletion permanently removes your account and its associated data —
including your profile, lifts, benchmarks, goals, posts and follows — and cannot
be undone. Residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period
before being overwritten.
7. Children’s privacy
Impulse Train is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us
with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may
have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to
withdraw consent. You can exercise deletion directly via in-app account deletion,
or contact us for any request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated”
date above and, for significant changes, provide notice within the app.
